Tamgu. No.17

• Purpose: Tamgu 17 conducts monitoring and immediate detections on red tide in waters of the South East coast of Korea to prevent aquaculture damage caused by red tide. Those activities are ultimately aimed to secure seafood safety from shellfish toxicity occurring in the coastal waters of Korea, expand seafood consumption and to increase income of fishermen.
• Activities: Regular monitoring on red tide, Survey on shellfish toxicity occurring in coastal waters of Korea, Survey on hypoxic water mass
• Navigation Zone: Coastal waters
• Research & Observation Equipment: CTD, Water sampler, Bottom sampler, Plankton sampler, 3D Microscope
