NIFS announced its plan to make and distribute theFisheries Resources in Korean Watersposter which introduces the recent catch data on major fisheries resources in Korean waters.

The poster being published this time lays out the representative 20 marine products caught in large quantities in each sea area; East Sea, West Sea, and South Sea and bar graph (in blue) indicating the data on average catch for the representative species over the past five years (2020-2024). Also, by providing the average catch from 2010 to 2019 in another bar graph (in orange) right above the blue one, the poster allows people to understand how the catch changes over time at a glance.

For easy accessibility, NIFS posted the original file on its website (www.nifs.go.kr) and is going to distribute 100 copies for free to the people who want to have on a first-come, first-served basis. Those who hope to receive the poster can directly make calls to the Coastal Water Fisheries Resources Research Divison (051-720-2284) or apply for it on the (Korean) website (General Services Fisheries Information Support).

President Choi, Yong-seok said, “NIFS will continue standing with the people by consistently providing the easy-to-understand data on catch for the major marine products in Korean waters.”
