Jellyfish has dramatically increased in its quantity, number of species, and area of appearance since the beginning of this century. The damages are to fishing industry and to swimmers in beaches. Conscious of this fact, governments, especially fisheries institutes, of the Korea, China and Japan are working together since 2004 to identify the causes and establish strategies to cope with the mass appearance of jellyfish.
