The NFRDI organized 2014 Fisheries Industry R & D Workshop to design a plan to create more jobs and income sources for fishermen at the BEXCO, Busan on 7 February 2014, where about 250 participants from the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, academia and related national andprovincial  organizations attended.
