The NFRDI had an opening ceremony of the “Technology Support Center for the HALAL Seafood Research Center” on March 26, 2015, in order to support local seafood companies to expand their businesses to Muslim markets. Approximately 40 people,including the Deputy-Minister of Fisheries Policies from MOF, President of the Busan Creative Economy Innovation Center, representatives from HALAL Seafood companies and Muslim clerics, participated the ceremony.
