NIFS anounced its publication of a cookbook All about Yellow Croaker Cooking and Nutrition using high-quality farmed yellow croaker. Representing wealth and abundance, Yellow croaker is a historically significant fish in Korean culture and is a staple item in important traditional ceremonies, particularly ancestral rites (charye) or served at the important guests’ table. The Director General Mok, Jong-soo of the Ocean Climate and Environment Research Department said, “I expect the book to serve as a role in making known the great taste and nutritious value of yellow croaker to the people. In addition to that, the cookbook will also contribute to revitalizing aquaculture industries and seafood consumption.” Anyone can download the file of this publication for free from the official website (www.nifs.go.kr).
