The Food Safety and Processing Research Division of NIFS convened a consultation meeting on April 18 to develop and promote youth-loving processed fishery products. About 30 experts from industry, academia, research institutes and government organizations participated in the meeting.

Senior officials from the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (MOF) and NIFS got together at the headquarters of NIFS on April 7 to share and discuss the progress and future plan of overall research projects.

To celebrate the 71^th Arbor Day, 150 members of NIFS participated in the internal Arbor Day event, planting 450 crops of trees and putting manure on the trees already planted around the institute.

Senior leadership of NIFS gathered together at the headquarters on March 29 and shared outstanding issues and discussed future strategic projects.

NIFS joined the MOU ceremony held in Busan City Hall on March 25, expressing its full support needed to establish and operate FAO World Fisheries University in Busan.

The task force team organized to enhance sea cucumber industry provided a briefing about the works they had done on March 24. The participants also discussed ways to further promote the industry.   

NIFS held a workshop on March 21 to set areas for shellfish production for export in Yeojaman Bay. Officials from local governments and fishermen attended and shared their ideas and opinions.

NIFS had an all staff workshop for two days from March 11 to 12 with the participation of 200 members. The main purpose of the workshop was to build up capabilities of NIFS as an executive agency.

President of NIFS visited Chungnyeolsa Shrine. He paid a tribute to deceased patriots and renewed his resolution to contribute to national development.
