President of NIFS participated in the 2015 Presidential meeting held in Wuxi, China from November 24 to 26 and discussed the measures to promote fisheries to a growth engine of each country.

The Aquatic Life Disease Control Division of NIFS had a meeting on November 24, with EU technical experts on animal health in regard to live olive flounder export to EU.  

NIFS concluded a MOU with the Republic of Korea Naval Academy on November 16 in order to build cooperative relationship in the field of marine science by exchanging academic information and relevant personnel.

NIFS set up a booth and actively promoted the research outcomes of the institute during the BISFE held at BEXCO from October 29 to 31,2015.   

NIFS hosted a 2016 meeting on the transplanting of fisheries resources, inviting people from the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (MOF), the National Fishery Products Quality Management Service (NFGS), local fisheries offices, Fisheries Cooperatives and academia, etc. Participants discussed future strategies andtarget species.  

The 1^st  friendly foot volleyball game between fisheries-related bodies located in Gijang was held in NIFS on October 31. Atotal of 170 players from 7 organizations including the Korea FisheriesResources Agency (FIRA) participated in the event and promoted a spirit of friendship and cooperative relationship each other.

President Kang, Joon-Suk of NIFS participated in the Symposium convened at Bexco, Busan on October 30, delivering a congratulatory message and discussing ways to promote cooperation and trade on fisheries among three countries.

The Technology Distribution Divisionof the NIFS held a meeting on October 28, 2015 to select 2016 research and education projects.  

In line with the government’s decision to standardize English names of government bodies, our institute has adopted the National Institute of Fisheries Science(NIFS) as its new name.

NIFS concluded a MOU with the Can Tho University inVietnam on October 13 to build cooperative relationship on the aquaculture andfisheries sciences.
