Deputy-Minister Khin Maung Aye of the Ministry of Livestock, Fisheries and Rural Development of Myanmar visited the NFRDI on August 26, 2015 to pave the way for cooperation.  The country asked us to share our expertise in fisheries, fishing vessels and fishermen support.

The NFRDI had a signboard hanging ceremony in celebration of KOLAS (Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme) accreditation in the field of “Diagnosis Technology for Aquatic Life Disease.”

The NFRDI had the 2015 first half-year Science Committee at Arpina on April 6, to review the current status and to discuss the future development plan of the fisheries resources restoring project, with the participation of the director of the Fisheries Resources Policy Division of the MOF, members of Busan Scientist Committee and researchers from the NFRDI.

The NFRDI had a monthly (August) all staff meeting in the main conference room on August 6.

In order to raise awareness of the value and importance of the sea and to create pleasant environment of the beach, the NFRDI had a beach cleaning campaign at the Ilgwang Beach on July 29 with residents of Dong-Am village.  

The NFRDI organized a meeting where about 70 abalone experts from business, local governments, academia and competent authorities participated and had a discussion to address outstanding issues in abalone aquaculture. The meeting was held in Wan-do Island on July 17, 2015.

The NFRDI, with the attendance of the Minister of Oceans and Fisheries, released Taesan and Boksun (Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphine) in the sea of Jeju-do Island on July 6.

The NFRDI announced personnel changes, and had an appoint ceremony to give them a letter of appointment on June 30.

The NFRDI had a meeting with people associated with scallop farming in the East Sea from June 24 to 25, in order to discuss how to secure self-sustaining seeds, followed by releasing 100,000 individuals of scallop spat in the coastal area of Yangyang-gun, Gangwon-do Province.
