The NFRDI set up a promotional booth in the Wando Seaweeds Expo hall, and is actively promoting its contribution to fisheries industry through many advanced R&D projects. The Expo lasts for a month from 11 April to 11 May 2014.

The NFRDI sponsored a music concert held at KBS hall at 3:30pm on April 2 to boost seamen and fishermen who work hard to supply safe seafood and to promote marine and fisheries industry. Approximately 3,000 seamen, fishermen and their family members enjoyed the concert.

The NFRDI signed on the agreement to transferring technologies related to the industrialization of effective microorganisms to WOOGENE B&G on 28 March 2014.

The Minister of Oceans and Fisheries, Lee, Ju-young visited the NFRDI on 21 March 2014. The NFRDI had a work briefing for him,and he asked the NFRDI to work extra hard for the development of advanced fisheries technology.

The NFRDI exchanged MOU with the Korea National Park service on 14 March 2014 for the conservation of coastal environment.

The NFRDI hosted a Symposium on Eco-Friendly Aquaculture to raise the economic efficiency of aquaculture and to provide a safe seafood consumption system. The symposium was held at Mok-po at 2:00pm on 13 March 2014.

The NFRDI lead a traffic safety campaign at the Gongsu and Dongam roads together with local residents, Gijang police station, Oceans and Fisheries HRD Institute, taxidrivers, and Haedong Yonggung Temple to encourage drivers and pedestrians to strictly observe traffic rules.

The NFRDI held the 2014 Fisheries Industry R & D Workshop for the west sea region at Seosan,Chungcheongnam-do on 7 March 2014. The workshop aimed to draw up a future plan for fisheries R & D and to boost cooperation between the industry, academia and research institutes with about 200 participants from related local governments, associations and academia.

Vice Minister of Oceans and Fisheries Son, Jae-hak visited the NFRDI at 11:00am on 7 March 2014. Having lunch together with the senior leadership, he was briefed on the works and projects of the Institute, and asked them to pursue the commercialization-oriented research and development.

The NFRDI had a monthly (March) all staff meeting in the main conference room from 9:00am on 3 March 2014 for job relocation and education on personal information protection.
