The NFRDI hosted the industry and academia collaboration meeting at the convention center of hidden bay hotel at Yeosu from 2:00pm on 27 February 2014. The purpose of the meeting was to come up with measures to create more income sources for fishermen and to promote aquaculture industry and fisheries seed industry.

The NFRDI had the opening ceremony for the Aquatic Life Disease Control Center at the Southwest Sea Fisheries Institute at 11:00am on 27 February 2014. The center aims to prevent the outbreak of aquatic life diseases and to produce & provide safe seafood to people.

The NFRDI exchanged MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with KTV (The National Audio Visual Information Service) on 19 February 2014 to raise people’s awareness of the importance of fisheries research projects, fisheries technologies, and marine ecosystem and environment.

President of the NFRDI (Chung, YoungHoon) was awarded the Plaque of the Appreciation from the Large Purse Seine Fisheries Cooperative Association on 17 February 2014 in recognition of his contribution to fishery resources restoration and promotion of fishery products consumption.

The?NFRDI president visited the site of the oil spill accident occured on 16 February 2014 by the Captain Vangelis L. The NFRDI immediately launched a task force team to investigate the impacts of the oil leakage.

The NFRDI organized 2014 Fisheries Industry R & D Workshop to design a plan to create more jobs and income sources for fishermen at the BEXCO, Busan on 7 February 2014, where about 250 participants from the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, academia and related national andprovincial  organizations attended.

Welcoming the Lunar New Year’s(seollal), the NFRDI visited a few community centers including ShinJeong LCC childcare center to present gifts on 27 January, 2014.

The NFRDI organized a working group meeting with national and provincial institutes related to fisheries resources enhancement at a conference room of the NFRDI headquarters at 1:30pm on 27 January 2014. At the meeting, participants had in-depth discussions on ways of mutual cooperation and effective management of fisheries resources.

The NFRDI exchanged MOU (Memorandum ofUnderstanding) with the Lotte R&D center for research cooperation of fisheries product, including technology transfer to identify the country of origin of fishery products. The ceremony was held at a conference room of NFRDI at11:00am on 21 January 2014.

The NFRDI organized a research vessel crew workshop to discuss how to effectively support research activities. It was held in Tongyeong from 16 to 17 January 2014.
