President of the NFRDI attended the Busan Annual Forum to draw up future visions for the fisheries industry of the region. The forum was held at the Lotte Hotel, with seven thousands people from the fisheries industry, including policy makers, fishermen, experts and all other stakeholders

The NFRDI president exchanged MOU with KSVSon 20 December 2012 with a view to protecting new varieties of aquatic plants.

President Chung Young-Hoon of NFRDI awarded the researcher Kim Jin-Young the Order of Service Merit (Red stripes) in recognition of her faithfulness and integrity during her long years of service. The ceremony was held in the president\'s room.

The NFRDI had an annualawards ceremony for highly performing members during its year-end party held inits main conference room on 31 December 2013.  

The NFRDI greeted the New Year together with more than 100 local residents in its mainconference room on 2 January 2014. A traditional folk music and dance performance was made during the opening ceremony.

The symposium was held on 5 January 2014 as a part of River Salmon Festival annually organized by Hwacheon county, Gangwon province.

President Chung Young-Hoon of NFRDI visted the Genetic & Breeding Research Center located at Geje-do (Dec. 19).

Southeast Sea Fisheries Research Institute of NFRDI hosted “International Symposium on Algal and Oyster Culture” in the Marina Resort of Tongyeong on Dec. 9 with invited experts from France.

On Dec. 17, President Chung Young-Hoon of NFRDI visited the Aqua-feed Research Division located at Pohang. He had a tour to see research facilities and encouraged researchers who work hard day and night.

The NFRDI had the 2^nd Research-Technology Diffusion-Fishermen Association meeting at the The-K hotel in Kyungjoo from 12 to 13 December 2013. About 100 people from the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, the NFRDI, local Fisheries Promotion Agencies and Fishermen Associations participated in the meeting to discuss how to tackle daunting challenges Fisheries industry has faced and how to cooperate with the Government for the future growth of the industry.
