On March 4, NIFS had an opening ceremony of aquafarming license review and assessment center to support the effective operation of the review and assessment system for aquafarming license.
On February 27, NIFS hosted a workshop with the staffs working on research vessels (R/Vs) of NIFS. Taking a tour of NIFS research facilities as well as other entities, they strengthened a sense of belonging while having open communication.
On February 20, NIFS hosted a consultative meeting between national and provincial research institutes on fisheries science with the attendance of people from the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (MOF), local governments, research institutes, etc. At the meeting, they had in-depth discussions on the measures for inter-organizational cooperation while sharing the plan to release fisheries seeds.
On January 23, the President of NIFS visited laver farms as well as laver processing and exporting companies (located in Shinan-gun, Jeonnam), to inspect the status of laver production. Moreover, a meeting was followed to hear difficulties in the field.
Mr. CHOI, Yong-seok, the President of NIFS, visited the Gijang City Management Corporation - the community welfare center - on the occasion of Seollal to deliver small gifts and extend the warm-hearted wish to the staff.
On January 21, NIFS held an event to pledge their commitment for the safety of Research Vessels (R/Vs) with the presence of around 60 staffs involved in the R/Vs.
Mr. CHOI, Yong-seok, the president of NIFS, visited fish farms located in Seosan, Chungnam to inspect the current status of preparation for low water temperature(LWT). Along with the officials from local governments, the president inspected the status in response to LWT while listening to the concerns and opinions from the site.
On January 3, NIFS held its 2025 kick-off meeting at its headquarters in which all the employees wished each other the best year and made new resolutions for the year.
On December 30, NIFS held the ceremony for compulsory and honorary retirement in the 2nd half of 2024 to celebrate its retirees in the presence of their families and colleagues.
Minister KANG, Do-hyung of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries visited the fisheries disaster situation office of NIFS headquarters, commending the staffs for their hard work, and inspecting the system for fisheries disaster prediction and LWT response.
