NATURAL ENVIRONMENT PURIFIER MOSSNITE INTRODUCTION MOSSNITE products are based on special Bryozoa (Moss animals) fossils found in the 40 km long deposit in Akan-cho, Hokkaido. Bryozoans are microscopic sea animals that live in colonial structures that are much larger than the individual animal. Because these structures are usually composed of secreted calcite, they commonly form fossils. The Akan rocks contain exceptionally superb minerals for plants and animals and are also highly micro porous, promoting high rates of absorption of ions. These special features have led to multipurpose and multifunction products particularly suitable for agriculture, livestock feed and environment purification. BRIEF DESCRIPTION The Akan fossil rocks are made from Bryozoans (moss animals) lived in the sea about 10～25 million years ago. The fossil stratum was upheaved and appeared above the ground. A range of MOSSNITE products are manufactured through the processes of excavation, crushing, drying, screening etc. of the natural resource. It has been known that large animals come into the mine to eat the fossil rocks in winter due to lack of food. This fact has proved that certain important ingredients which such animals instinctively require are included in the natural rocks. So, the first use was livestock feed. It is also well known that the Bryozoa fossils contain humic acid, etc. which activate the soil microbes and are therefore ideal for soil improvement. The activating effect for microbes are also confirmed in dirty water treatment of cultivation ponds, etc. The fossils absorb Nitrogen and Phosphorus as well as suspended sludge, settling down to the bottom, and at the same time, its calcium carbonate ingredient activate water microbes. They also control the growth of blue-green algae and maintain good water quality. Due to its weak alkalinity, oviposition of mosquitos are reduced. The sludge formed on the pond bottom may be reused as compost or planting soil. Bearing these special features combined with its unique micro-porosity in mind, an advanced coagulant has been developed. Added to the fossil powder are a very small amount of inorganic alumina silicates which have functions of dual ion exchanges, namely cationic ions under acidic condition and anionic ions under alkaline condition. This is called "MOSSNITE NEO" and used for agricultural soil improvement, stock feed, deodorization (removing odor)etc. with unique and exceptional advantages.
